I have been originating mortgage loans for 34 years. I got into the business in 1986 in Chicago
when a college friend I went to school with in Oklahoma, started a mortgage company with his
brother, back in Chicago. The company had grown to several states, and he offered me a job as
a Loan Officer. I have been doing home loans ever since.
I worked in the Chicagoland area for 14 years before relocating to Las Vegas, where I have
been doing home loans for 20 years.
Needless to say, I have seen all of the ups and downs of the industry for a long time. In October
of 1987 the Stock Market crashed, causing rates to jump from 8.5% to 11% overnight. Then we
saw the Savings and Loan crisis happen in the late eighties and early nineties, where Savings
and Loans were crashing and being taken over by the Federal government seemingly overnight.
Rates hovered around 8-9% for years after that. In 2008 the most recent financial crisis took
place again affecting the industry. During the last 34 years I have closed close to a billion dollars
in loans personally, for my clients. I closed about 60 million dollars in loans for one of the
nation’s largest new home builders from 2012 to 2014, saving their home sales and helping my
clients to get financing when the banks and the builder's lender turned them down.
I love the challenge and always look forward to doing what others cannot.
Today, I’m still at it, helping people finance their dreams of home ownership!
